RCF HDL Systems Bring Wine on Stage
Providing a tailored AV production service and cutting-edge equipment hire, Corpralite Audio Visual have been crafting successful events for over a decade. The Adelaide-based team offer event design through the lens of creativity and experience, taking an involved approach to drive home lasting experiences.
Equipped with an ample selection of RCF’s versatile line array modules, including the celebrated HDL 20-A, Corpralite have been able to deliver across events large and small, whilst maintaining the advantages of a lean operation, as director Vince Cagliuso explains:
“We’re a small business achieving big things – on any day we can go from small gigs with 100 people indoors, to putting on big shows for 5000 people outdoors. We started in the industry around 11 years ago and what we do now can be quite diverse. From structure setups with stages and trussing, to the audio-visual components: PA systems, lighting design and screens, we do it all. Having the modularity of those RCF line array elements really helps with this, as we can customize the loadout for each show. Corpralite covers a broad spectrum of events, and the RCF equipment helps give us full-scale capabilities - it’s important to have reliable hardware that covers all bases, so we can give our clients peace of mind and a seamless experience.”
Given the ever-changing nature of Corpralite’s projects, RCF’s flexible line array module and sub element offerings provide the production team with a variety of approaches to solving a scope of different sound reinforcement scenarios. Calling on the acclaimed reliability of RCF’s HDL20-A for a large winery event, Vince put one of the brand's most iconic products to work:
“We had a great time putting on the winery event, they had an 80s cover band and a local DJ perform throughout the day. We were looking at a big crowd of over 4500 people, so we knew we’d need something with extensive coverage. We decided to go with 24 x HDL 20-A and 8 x HDL 6-A, along with 8 x 8006-AS and 4 x HDL 18-AS subwoofers, and ran delay towers to get the sound perfect all the way to the back. These modules were definitely the line array of choice- it’s our biggest system and was the perfect fit for an event of this size.”
Designed around more than just excellent audio quality, the HDL 20-A is built to last. Comprised of a sturdy polypropylene composite enclosure, the cabinets are structurally reinforced, whilst remaining compact with minimal weight. Integrating advanced DSP and a highly efficient Class D amplifier, HDL 20-A modules are capable of world-class audio at a substantial 135dB max SPL for a single module. The superb combination of functionality and form allows the HDL 20-A to shine as a dependable choice for touring and live applications, as Vince reveals:
“These are small boxes that individuals can easily lift, which means you’ve got a very quick and simple set up and tear down. From a tuning point of view, the boxes are also performing great. We have presets for certain sizes and events, so we can just run existing programs and tweak what’s needed from there- it’s been great for our audio workflow! What I like is the simplicity of the RCF HDL series – they’re just so straightforward to manage.”
