New Bowl'n'Lounge opts for RCF sound

The new Bowl’n’Lounge entertainment complex has been opened by Lott Casinos GmbH in the German town of Niederzier.
The venue has been divided into four main zones, comprising a la carte and self-service restaurants, a bowling and separate billiard area — all equipped with RCF sound systems. The highlight of the operation is the broad way it caters for individuals, with sports, events, conferences, birthdays or any other types of party, organised by the staff — and all require a first class sound system. 

Seeking a system integrator with experience in this sector, Lott Casinos appointed Raum+Schall. The AV specialists have provided an RCF solution in many bowling centres in the past.
“The decision was easy,” said Lott Casinos’ Christine Switula. “In conjunction with others, RCF had already won the Sinus [System Integration] Award Entertainment in 2009 for a Bowling Centre — and we trust the judgment of Markus Lienhart, Raum+Schall’s project planner.
“The quality of the sound was paramount — but the high quality of the components was of equal importance. For us it was important to have a manufacturer who builds all parts of the speaker system.” It was also important, though not essential, that the loudspeaker enclosures had a low visual footprint and blended well into the surroundings.
The main sound reinforcement system comprises 10 x 4Pro 1031 (800W peak) in the bowling lanes as well as bar/restaurant, with and a pair of SUB705-AS II compact 15” active sub beefing up the sub frequencies in the bowling area.
The RCF system can handle a number of source feeds — from disco music, to vocal mic, TV and presentations in the meeting rooms — while the installers have provided plug-in points for other portable devices, giving the operation further flexibility.
In addition to the 4Pro series, Bowl’n’Lounge are using 12 of the compact and easily mountable RCF MQ50 — with four speakers in each of the three meeting rooms. “The challenge here was to be able to steer the signals when the three rooms are combined into one space,” said Ms Switula.
Two separate outdoor areas are also equipped with RCF — this time the high intelligibility Monitor MR44T — with four in each area. As they are mounted under a roof, no additional weatherization was required.
The installation also needed to be EN54 compliant and RCF’s DXT7000 emergency voice evacuation system with paging mic. — and 68 additional PL68EN ceiling speakers, featuring a flameproof steel bottom, have been installed for this purpose. These supplement the main PA and can be found in all rooms where no PA has been installed.
“We believe this new sound system will meet all our requirements, and are delighted with the result,” said Christine Switula in conclusion.
